Sturge Design Reveals 96 Metre Explorer Concept Rimor X

London based studio Sturge Design has teamed up with expedition specialist Pelorus to present a new 96 metre explorer superyacht concept named Rimor-X.

Named after the Latin word “rimor” meaning “explorer”, the go-anywhere yacht is a response to the “growing desire within experiential travel to go further afield and see parts of the world few others have”, Pelorus said.

The exterior has been developed with Ben Julian Toth while Pelorus acted as technical advisor on the project.

Spread across five decks with a massive 4,000GT, Rimor-X will feature a large gym, fully equipped wellness spa and an atrium leading down to an underwater “mermaid lounge” intended for observing underwater life.

Elsewhere, the main deck will feature a 10 metre pool with its own pool house located beneath the helipad. There will be plentiful al fresco dining and lounging areas with an outside Jacuzzi and fire pit on the bridge deck. The interior styling meanwhile includes teak detailing in the ceilings and “fast texture materials”.

Accommodation on board is for a total of 14 guests in seven staterooms, including four double suites on the lower deck, two VIP apartments on the main deck and a dedicated owner’s deck and observatory.

Toby Sturge explained: “From the layout, it’s obvious that each of these spaces has their own intimacy and function. This allows all family members to enjoy their own time on board while still being together all on one incredible deck stretching from stern to bow."

Toth added: “The Rimor-X visually unites the beauty and might of its natural environment with an unmistakable call towards fierce environments, new adventures, and bold expeditions for lasting memories and Pelorus has the knowledge and know-how in leading the adventurous experiences that the clients are after.”

Rimor-X is projected to have a top speed of 17 knots and range of 10,000 nautical miles.
